“Magic Knight Rayearth” Celebrates 30th Anniversary with New Anime Project: Visuals & PV Released

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the beloved anime Magic Knight Rayearth, a new anime project has been announced. The official “New Anime Announcement Visual” and a “New Anime Announcement PV” have been unveiled alongside this exciting news.

A Nostalgic Journey Returns

Originally serialized in Nakayoshi (Kodansha) from 1993 to 1995, Magic Knight Rayearth was created by the legendary manga group CLAMP. The series gained immense popularity when it was adapted into a TV anime by Tokyo Movie in 1994. The opening theme song, “Yuzurenai Negai,” sung by Naomi Tamura, became a massive hit, selling over one million copies.

The newly released visual showcases the iconic Magic Knights—Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji—each holding their signature swords and gazing over the mystical world of Cephiro.

Reliving the Magic with a New PV

The promotional video (PV) begins with color illustrations from the original manga and transitions to scenes from the 30-year-old anime. It highlights the characters’ expressions and the epic journey of the Magic Knights, evoking nostalgia and excitement for both new and returning fans.

Special Exhibition at The National Art Center, Tokyo

From July 3 to September 23, the “CLAMP Exhibition” at The National Art Center, Tokyo, will feature posters and visuals from this new anime project. This exhibition promises to be a treat for fans, offering a glimpse into the rich history and artistry of CLAMP’s works, including the latest additions to the Magic Knight Rayearth legacy.
