New Horror Film “Sayuri” Unveils Chilling Trailer and Visuals

The upcoming live-action film “Sayuri,” based on Renpei Oshikiri’s work, has just released its main trailer, key visuals, and scene photos. This spine-tingling horror movie promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

A New Home, A New Horror

The trailer begins with the Kamiki family joyfully stepping into their new home. However, while everyone is excited, the protagonist’s brother, Shun, feels an eerie presence and hesitantly says, “Brother, this place feels scary.” As the story unfolds, his unsettling feeling proves accurate. Their grandmother, suffering from dementia, stares intently at empty spaces, and rumors circulate about previous occupants leaving soon after moving in.

Amid the rising tension and escalating fears, the family is in a nightmare. Just as despair looms large, the grandmother, with a determined expression, declares, “I’m wide awake now,” hinting at a possible turnaround.

Visuals and International Premiere

The film’s key visual showcases the tagline, “I’ll show you the ultimate hell.” It features the protagonist, Norio, casting a terrified look towards a lurking shadow of a girl while his grandmother remains calm yet serious.

Adding to the excitement, “Sayuri” has been officially selected for the 28th Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, running from July 18 to August 4.
